Traditional Approaches to Healing with Russell Auger

Monday Evenings February 3 – March 23

Note: Instead of Monday, February 17th, the course for that week will be held on Tuesday, February 18th.


Overview of an evening:

7:00 – 7:15 – Gather, get a snack and a drink, Smudge (Prayer)

7:15 – 8:45 – Topic of the day/sharing circle/activity

8:45 – 9:00 – Closing reflection and prayer


This course is a learner driven program that seeks to reclaim a previously suppressed Indigenous culture rich in its own history, tradition and approach to wellness. Learners will be immersed in Indigenous traditional practices led by traditional knowledge keepers. Participants will reflect individually and together on the impact of the teachings that are shared. Ceremony and traditional teaching of Indigenous culture in Alberta: Smudging, Sharing circles, Journaling and self-reflection, Making handcrafts (eg: beading, weaving, ribbon skirt/shirt making, rattle making, etc) & Sharing of personal stories.
