Meet the Clinical Director for Momentum Counselling Kimberley Masliuk Giddings

Hi Everyone,

My Name is Kimberly Masliuk-Giddings and I am the Clinical Director for Momentum Counselling. Momentum is a non-profit counselling agency that strives to reduce financial barriers to accessing mental health services for individuals, couples, and families. We operate on a sliding scale, and we are always willing to work with a client, and adjust the fee as needed, if finances are a barrier. Momentum specializes in single-session Solution Focused Therapy as well as Brief Therapy for individuals who find that they need more than one counselling session to work through various concerns or issues in their lives. Momentum has the great fortune to be a partnered with E4C and the Wellness Network! With their support, we are able to run a variety of FREE therapy groups to the public! Currently Momentum is facilitating an Emotion Regulation Group, Anxiety and Depression Group, Woman’s Wellness Group, Grief and Loss, and Healthy Relationships. The city of Edmonton is also funding a Men’s Group that Momentum facilitates as well! Momentum is also currently facilitating a First Responders and Front-line Workers Support Group that runs on Monday evenings, 6 pm to 8pm. September 11, 2023 to October 23, 2023. Participants can join at any time, and you do not need to have attended previous sessions, to attend any session you choose. The groups are drop-in, and you can come to as little or as many groups as you want throughout the group series offerings! You can join at any time during all the group series as well! Please see for more details on our group offerings! Thank you to Canadian Red Cross for funding and granting the opportunity for Momentum to provide pro-bono individual counselling sessions to First Responders and anyone in their networks who are impacted by the wildfires. Individuals can call our main reception at 780-757-0900 to book a counselling session.

As another highlight, Momentum has been involved in a variety of presentations in the community on several different topics such as compassion fatigue, self-care, and emotion regulation. Most recently, in September 2023, I presented a presentation on Navigating Youth Mental Health, at an Artistic Swimming Club Conference. If your organization is interested in learning more about Momentum’s Services, or how we might become in volved in your agency initiatives (such as providing groups, presentations, and trainings), please feel free to email me directly at to discuss further details.
